We look so forward to spring after the cold winter months, this is a time of new beginning and freshness.  Often, we look at our surroundings and want to freshen them as well.  This is what we call ‘Spring Cleaning”.

There are different methods that can be used to embrace and refresh your space.  Some people prefer clean each room top to bottom.  This includes vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the floor boards, windows and blinds.  In addition to that, we often wash the bedding and curtains.  Once this task is completed, you move on to the next room and do the same thing over again.  Eventually, your entire home is clean and fresh.

I have been told that the room by room approach is overwhelming.  This year, I thought I would share a cleaning schedule calendar.  It can be used every spring, just start it on the first day of the month and move along.  Some of these tasks are simple and others will take a little more time.  It all evens out in the end and at the end of the month, you have a clean home.

Often, when we are getting into these cleaning projects, they also turn into organizing projects.  You may find something in the room that doesn’t belong there.  If that’s the case, just take the 5 minutes and put it where it belongs.  For the items that you find along the way that you just aren’t sure what to do with them, take a moment and think about what situation you need them for and see if there is a space in that area to store them.  When you store things in their logical place, it makes it easier for you to find them the next time you need them and to put them away where they go when you are finished with them.

I hope that your spring cleaning is off to a great start and encourage you to continue with the schedule, one task at a time.
