Dress for Success

Let’s face it, since the pandemic the work place has changed tremendously for several people.  We all faced the challenges of working remotely or changed to different jobs that would allow us to work from home.  I have talked to many people that have started going back to their offices and in most cases, they are working a hybrid schedule, a few days in the office and a few days from home.  I can only imagine that their closets have several pieces of business clothes that are no longer in the regular rotation.  This is the perfect time to reassess your closet and what clothes do or don’t work for your new situation.  A wonderful resource for the unwanted business clothes is Dress for Success.  If you haven’t heard about them or want to learn more, you are in luck.  I’m going to share everything about them here!

Since starting operations in 1997, Dress for Success has expanded to almost 150 cities in 25 countries and has helped more than 1.2 million women work towards self-sufficiency.

They have several affiliate locations and you can donate clothes, support the organization financially, get involved as a volunteer or help in other ways.  Dress for Success Worldwide is located in New York and oversees our global affiliate network.

They are a wonderful resource for women that are in need of assistance.  I love that they service the Triangle and focus on the following; career and image counseling, job acquisition class and career development.

I challenge you to take an hour this weekend and give your closet some attention!  Remove those clothes that no longer work for your work environment, no longer make you feel good when you wear them and ones that you are simply tired of!  They are accepting donations on September 20th from 10a-3p at these locations: Raleigh (1812 Tillery Place, Suite 105) and Durham (1720 Guess Road, Suite 14).
